Some Personal Info

Hi!

I am Gopalan Sriram, `G' to my friends. If you want to know about my school, college, university, work etc., you can see it in my resume. This page gives a general intro about the person that I am.

I am docile, lazy, moderately intelligent and honest. Many of my friends don't agree, but who cares? I happen to be interested in just about anything under the sun. So I am open to discussion on any topic with anybody. So, if you feel strongly about anything, please email me and get an Indian friend free!!! Hurry, offer open till stocks last.

My hobbies and interests :

I should say my favorite hobby is reading. You will find this page filled with stuff related to that ( I am assuming that you have the patience to go through the whole thing). However, being a versatile personality ;-) , I also do a few other things. Like painting. I do water colors and sketch portraits occasionally. I also write short stories and unbelievably bad poems. I find Indian politics interesting and like to analyse the actions of those #@$%^&s.( Since this site is rated G, I am censoring the expletive). I love cricket. Not much. Only as much as every other cricket-crazy Indian. I also like tennis, soccer and hockey. Oof! Lot of stuff for a paragraph, what?

My reading interests :

I am not one of those guys who take up and gobble up all his/her books in a few weeks. I tend to find authors repetitive after a few books. So I keep jumping authors. My favorite author in the world is Sujatha (pseudonym of Mr. Rangarajan). He is a Tamil author and I am not sure you would have heard of him, if you were not a Tamilian. He is the only Tamil author I read. Among English authors I like Richard Bach, Frederick Forsyth, Irwing Wallace, Erle Stanley Gardener, P.G.Wodehouse, R.K.Narayanan ( the original and best Indo-Anglican author) and George Gamov (not a novelist) among others. Quite a mixed bag, eh? If anyone knows the email id of Sujatha ( I know he is there somewhere ), please email me.

My favorite readings :

Among all the printed material on earth, I like comics best. My favorites are calvin and hobbes, Asterix and Archie and gang. Among my favorite books are `Jonathan Livingston Seagull' by Bach, `The Negotiator' by Forsyth, `Seven Minutes' by Wallace, `Swami and Friends' by Narayanan and all works of Sujatha.

My likings in movie related stuff:

My favorite movies are `And justice shall be done' (English) and `Pesum Padam' (Pushpak for northies and others) starring Kamal Hassan. `Pesum Padam' has no language but you can call it a Tamil movie. You will understand the preceding statement only if you see the movie. Kamal Hassan is my favorite actor, but I like him more for his directorial skills.
