The humanitarian crisis in NorthEast Srilanka has resulted in the deaths of over 65,000 innocent lives. Since 1983, over 1 million people have been internally displaced and a further 600,000 refugees have fled the country.

The Social Welfare Organisation (SWO), working in the war zone in Eastern Srilanka, undertakes numerous humanitarian needs, operating from Kaluwanchikudi, Batticaloa.

SWO is responsible for helping and serving over 1,200 children who have lost their parents and have become orphans.

We request especially the Srilankans living in overseas for financial support for this good cause. Your support:

Sponsorship is open to people of all faiths and walks in life. Child sponsorships, education of orphans are the main focus and purpose of SWO.

We appeal to overseas Srilankan Tamils in particular to involve themselves in this humanitarian crisis. This will give donors the feeling that they are doing something to alleviate the sufferings of orphans.
